Of course, I encourage my clients to engage in loss mitigation efforts and discussions with their lenders. I insist upon it actually.
I want my clients to be participating in loss mitigation efforts that may lead to resolutions of the mortgage problems. But this morning I had a client that explained she was uncomfortable making mortgage payments when the bank is accused of laundering money for drug cartels and terrorist organization. So does she have a good faith basis to plead not making mortgage payments as a conscientious objector?

The report [link to PDF here] which comes ahead of a Senate hearing on Tuesday, said large amounts of Mexican drug money likely passed through the bank.
