Thousands of Lawsuits Dismissed….The Next Robo Signer Controversy…More To Come….

JPMorgan-Drops-DebtI sat in court today and watch as one foreclosure case after another was dismissed.   It reminded me of the story about the boy who walked along the beach to find thousands of starfish washed up and dying….he grabs one and throws it back, but his act seems so futile to an old man watching….the old man approaches and says, “boy, there are so many here, you cannot possibly make a difference.”   The boy grabs another starfish and throws it back into the sea and then he responds to the old man, “I just made a difference to that one.”

That’s kinda what it feels like sitting in court, and while the cases dismissed are great, my soul is troubled by all the families that lost their homes before people woke up to the sickening reality in front of us.

The foreclosure dismissals are just the start….today’s Wall Street Journal reports on another HUGE development, JP Morgan dropping thousands of credit   card cases all across the country…..From the Wall Street Journal:

J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. has abandoned more than a thousand debt-collection lawsuits across the U.S. that sought to recover soured credit-card loans from borrowers.

The nation’s second-largest bank by assets, including more than $100 billion in credit-card accounts, wouldn’t disclose the number of cases dismissed or the reasons for the move. State judges said the bank has dropped lawsuits targeting borrowers in California, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey and New York since April.
