Short, must see video.
It is infuriating to see how our government continues to be beholden to Wall Street and the bankers. Equally frustrating is that we’re all allowing to continue. Soon we may reach the point of no return – that is, the point past which we will not be able to change things. They will have won. The people will have lost. This short video is an excellent example of just how corrupt things are.
Thanks for posting this.
Law is not a moral system, it is a legal system, and corruption is written into our laws as shown in this video. Many forms of corruption are now legal in America, such as the self-investigation described by Matt Taibbi. Even when the law is violated, don’t expect Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder to do much. Holder is a political hack. Holder was involved in Clinton’s presidential pardon scandal of fugitive financier Mark Rich. Since taking office Holder has largely refused to go after the Too-Big-To-Fail banks that caused this mess.
The New York Times reported that “Federal prosecutors officially adopted new guidelines about charging corporations with crimes – a softer approach that, longtime white-collar lawyers and former federal prosecutors say, helps explain the dearth of criminal cases despite a raft of inquiries into the financial crisis”

But DOJ did prosecuted 48 year old Charlie Engle for allegedly stating a false income on his liar-loan mortgage application. During the investigation prosecutors used an undercover female agent to seduce Mr. Engle and extract evidence, according to the New York Times. Engle was sentenced to 21-months in prison for mortgage fraud.

Get used to it: America has two sets of rules, one for the VIPs and one for the rest of us. The late comedian George Carlin said it well in his American Dream piece, which I recommend.
