Appreciate what this documentary is advocating, but the courts – when they work – are little more than a sophisticated pissing contest, whoever runs out of money first looses. When the courts do not work, as is often the case with ordinary folks and pro se, it is just a waste of time and money.
I say let the courts fail, and start over with a new model. Look overseas for a better system. The current system is incapable of meaningful reform (thanks to the Florida Bar and other special interests).
One reform, let foreign lawyers represent people. English speaking lawyers in India for example could represent ordinary Americans for reasonable rates via video conferencing. No one can hire a $300 per hour American lawyer while making $20 per hour themselves at their job.
