When fascists rise to power, they fuse together with the awesome power and interests of the state and federal government.
Here in this nation, in the space of foreclosure particularly, we see the fierce, the arrogant, the out-of-control power of the state and federal government working in lockstep with corporate interests to crush and steal from citizens. But they cannot do this alone, in order for this campaign to be successful, they require the active participation of our nation’s courts, state and federal. And they are receiving that active participation.
The National Mortgage Settlement was always, and continue to be, one of the more disturbing examples of fascism at work in the United States of America, with both the federal government, and attorneys general from across the country, signing onto an agreement that finds them agreeing to participate in the active and on going campaign of the banks and corporations to flagrantly ignore laws and rules on their path to steal homes from Americans.
