Take a look at the attached document.
I just got it today from my insurance company, Citizens.
It informs me that I can expect a surcharge of up to 43% when a catastrophic storm comes.
That’s just great….we pay billions into insurance and it’s not there when we need it.
Add this to the Biggert Waters Flood Insurance Catastrophe and we’ve got a real problem on our hands.
Here are some facts about Biggert Waters Flood:
- Florida has 4 times the policies of any other state
- Florida paid $16 Billion, received just under $4 billion over the 35 year life of the program
- Florida alone would be paying 60% of the premiums for the entire country.
Hey Matt ,
This is your big government at it’s finest … somebody has to pay for all those poor folks in Tennessee and Virginia that built homes in the 1920’s , 30’s , 40’s , 50’s in mountain ravines and are “surprised” each and every year when the snow melts and they get flooded … This is just another way to “spread the wealth around”.
BOY HOWDY! I never expected the snow to melt ,, good thing this shack is insured for $250k and another $150k for possessions … guess I’ll get ANOTHER check (for the fourth time this decade) from the Flood Insurance people and rebuild!
SUCKERS.
