From the New Yorker:
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—By a five-to-four decision, the United States Supreme Court today defended the right of the wealthiest Americans to own the United States government.
Writing for the majority, Chief Justice John Roberts summarized the rationale behind the Court’s decision: “In recent years, this Court has done its level best to remove any barriers preventing the wealthiest in our nation from owning our government outright. And while the few barriers that remained were flimsy at best, it was high time that they be shredded as well.”
That’s a satirical post from Borowitz, and not quotations from Justice Roberts.
If the wealthiest want to “own” the government in DC, then they can pay all the bills! All $17 trillion of them! I don’t consent to this corrupt government that is NOT FOR the people, as it is a private corporation formed in 1871, so I opt out of sending any of my money to support corruption, fraud and deceit. When we reinstate the Republic, our country will get back on track. These bogus alleged “Supreme Court” rulings are attempting to steal the wealth of the people, Time to bring back Grand Juries and Common Law of the LAND.
