Florida’s Republican Party- Attacking Consumers, Bailing Out Banks And Insurance Companies (Again) With The (un)Fair Foreclosure Bill

fraudclosure-florida

I was a  registered Republican my entire life.   My entire family was Republican…but like many Americans I formally changed my party affiliation a year ago, having grown disgusted by watching an entire party turn its back on the people who supported it.

I ENCOURAGE ANYONE WHO IS STILL REGISTERED AND VOTING REPUBLICAN TO CLICK HERE…SO YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR AFFILIATION

What’s the latest evidence that the RPOF serves corporate interests over The People?   Why the Florida House Civil Subcommittee vote on House Bill 87, the gift for the Title Insurance and banking Industry, the kick in the gut to consumers and our justice system.   Have a look at the straight party vote:   You will note that not a single Republican showed the personal conviction to vote with the people of the State of Florida….that’s the way politics in Tallahassee works.

Now, I’m certain many of those that voted for this bill know that it’s bad, but they’re falling into line with Their Party, and ignoring the will of The People.   That’s the way   politics in Tallahassee works.

I want very much for the Democratic Party to provide a reasonable alternative to the tyranny of the far right, our elected and appointed government doing the bidding of the corporate interests.   I hold out hope that New Democrats like Senator Darren Soto offer real leadership and real representation for consumers.   I hope that moderate Republicans like Mike Fasano will provide real alternatives to the current Republican leadership.

I would love to see a strong, activated and energized Democratic party in Florida taking a powerful role in shaping the future of Florida as a state that respects the Rule of Law, promotes our state’s financially deprived judicial system and which protects the rights of consumers.
