WAKE UP AMERICA- WE ARE NOT A DEMOCRACY, WE ARE A CORPORATE FASCIST WHITE COLLAR CRIMINAL OLIGARCHY
A key element of fascism is the imprisonment, torture and persecution of human beings. First, the persecution starts with those at the margins, those who are least able to defend themselves, but make no mistake it will eventually make its way to more and more of us.
Keeping humans in cages is fundamentally inhuman. And here in the United States of America, we cage and torture more humans than any other nation in the world.
Forced labor, torture, inhumanity. And its done, increasingly, for profit.
And here in Florida, our governor, or as we in Florida call him, The Con Artist in Chief, wants to turn more prisons into profit centers.
Even though crime rates in American have either stabilized or gone down, the incarceration rate (especially for people who are in this country illegally) has gone up ““ way up. (As this video points out, more people are being incarcerated on civil charges, not criminal.)
Naturally, as with most changes in this country, this has more to do with profit than anything else ““ and now we find that Wells Fargo is a major shareholder in for-profit prisons. Hmm. So this is what’s taken the place of mortgages as the banking cash cow? From Salon:
