This bit of reporting from Kim Miller at Palm Beach Post is just amazing….
Also, the report found that cases are increasingly being reopened after a final judgment is issued, possibly to cancel and reschedule sale dates of properties.
In Palm Beach County there were nearly as many reopened cases in 2012 as there were newly filed. About 13,500 new cases were filed, while 13,389 cases were reopened.
This is just staggering and places such an incredible commentary upon what’s really happening in our state’s courts.
This issue must be carefully understood by our entire court system…and state policy makers….before they continue tinkering with our state’s foreclosure laws. It’s like we keep shoveling dirt into a bucket..but the bucket has no bottom on it…the fundamental question is….
WHY ARE SO MANY CLOSED CASES BEING REOPENED?
