OCCUPY PALM BEACH – OCCUPY “OUR” COURTS!

occupy-movementThe courts that we used to call “our” courts are far too dominated by the banksters these days.   We The People have abandoned our courts and into this vacuum stepped the bankers and their minions.

It’s time for the people to get far more involved in their courts, not just to protest, but to support, defend and protect them. Florida’s courts are obscenely underfunded and they are stretched to their breaking point.   The first step in understanding what is wrong is to get involved and see the problem first hand.   The next step is to get involved in supporting then reclaiming our courts.

It’s long past time that people wake up and take action against the tyranny that our sick nation faces.   Occupy is a start…

Occupy Palm Beach County 2.0:

Occupy the Courts, Occupy Our Homes

General Assembly: Saturday, March 31, 10:45 a.m. Cultural Plaza, downtown Lake Worth.
After more than six months OPBC is making a new start. Instead of battling the authorities over the use of public space we are morphing into struggles for the 99% all through Palm Beach County.
Similar changes are happening around the country, with many groups evolving to focus on particular issues, including Occupy the SEC and Occupy the Food System. Physical occupations will go on, but our movement is too large and diverse to limit our tactics.
Often these groups are most effective when they link local issues with the national and global problems that first gave rise to Occupy Wall St. Many in the movement are now focused on foreclosure fraud and eviction, which link the battles of local homeowners against banksters with the global consequences of Wall Street and corporate rapacity.
Palm Beach County continues to be a national center of foreclosure fraud and, in response, the OPBC GA has approved two projects. Occupy the Courts will have foreclosure fraud court watchers attending hearings to observe and draw attention to our bankster-dominated legal system. Occupy Our Homes will assist homeowners in foreclosure–through Occupations, community organizing and protests (including at banks), connecting individual fights with systemic problems.
OPBC is smaller, the euphoria of our early days has faded, but we’re also better organized and a little wiser. We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to meeting on time, keeping our meetings to 90 minutes, and to getting things accomplished.
Saturday’s GA in the Cultural Plaza in Lake Worth will start at 11. Along with short committee reports and other items, we’ll talk about how to implement Occupy the Courts and Occupy Our Homes. We’ll be looking for volunteers to carry out these projects. If you want to volunteer but can’t attend on Saturday, go to https://OccupyPalmBeachCounty.org/, log in and leave a message.
The Cultural Plaza is on the east side of M Street between Lake and Lucerne Avenues in downtown Lake Worth between City Hall and the Library.  There’s lots of shade and grass and plenty of parking.  Bring a folding chair if you’d like.  From I-95, take the Sixth St. exit east to M Street, then left (north) to the Cultural Plaza.
