A very interesting comment from a reader…..
As to the governments ability to take into custody persons that it deems ” dangerous” without even stating the guidelines to be used, is disturbing even in time of war.
” federal government obtained the power to secretly disappear American citizens with no records and no explanation”.
I use you Matt, as like a canary in a coal mine. When and if I see your post disappear, I know people like me will be next.
The Constitution is and has been under attack for quite some time.
We allowed Iraq & Afghanistan to languish for years haggling over the formations of their constitution’s ” basis of governing” when we could have imposed ours. Whats wrong with that? The answer is the people who are in charge, don’t want to spread American democracy, and in fact want to circumvent ours.
Our nations decline started with the Kennedy Coup in 1963, followed by the Gulf of Tonkin lie, that started a war that cost 58,000 American boys their lives, and ended 10 years later with people clinging onto helicopters off the embassy roof. The financial cost was a very modest sounding amount today, of 248 billion dollars.
We will only leave Iraq & Afghanistan when the public elects anti war legislators as we did in 1972.
Nixon ” the peace candidate” converted to ” peace with honor” then in 73 as he went to China ” Nixon the 50s Commie Hunter” opened the door for China giving them most favored trade status, while dispatching Henry Kissinger to the middle east to organize, and establish OPEC ” he even coined the name”.
My father told me 25 years ago that they were doing everything they could to bust this country.
Since 63 we have gone from being the country that was owed the most, to the country that owes the most.
Who is to blame?
A large portion of blame belongs to the dumbed down American citizenry, who failed to heed Eisenhower’s exit speech, where he warned of the danger presented by the military industrial complex.
This conglomerate of war hardware producers are owned/controlled by the same people who own the Bank of England, and our Federal Reserve, the Rothschild’s.
They killed Kennedy in part because he wanted and was exploring ways to do away with the FED.
Were you aware that George Bush Sr was in Dallas in 63 when the coup was carried out? He later became head of the CIA, before becoming Reagan’s VP.
The children and grandchildren of the people who killed Kennedy committed the false flag attack of 9/11, that was necessary to gather support for wars that only benefits the 1% and Israel. The phony economic crisis was&is to be the death blow to Americans economic future.
Our governments inability to provide prosperity and employment to its citizens, has been replaced by a offer to provide protection from nonexistent and at least overblown threats posed by Al Qaeda ” the CIA name given to the fighters we paid to fight the Russians in Afghanistan in the 80s” and so called Muslim extremist who so far have caused less than one tenth of 1% of the injuries and death caused by slip & falls in bathtubs.
Why are we not doing anything about bathtub safety?
Matt,
I think people like you–very public, outspoken types–will be the last to go for the very reason stated by this commenter, i.e., that once you go, we will know for sure that the tyranny is complete. And they don’t want us to know the tyranny is complete quite yet.
I’m with you and the author of this comment–things are about to get really bad and really crazy sooner rather than later. That’s why I think about the Solzhenitsyn quote:
“What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, polkers, or whatever else was at hand?”
I’m not going to the camps, and neither is any member of my family.
Forget the bathtubs. According to the CDC:
“¢In 2009, 10,839 people were killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes, accounting for nearly one-third (32%) of all traffic-related deaths in the United States.
Time to re-enact Prohibition. That will give everyone some long sobering reflection on whats going on in this country.
I agree with most of this Post and the above Comment. What I don’t know is factual does not seem unlikely…I used to believe all the propaganda I learned as a kid in school and college. No more…
Yes, it is time to get the masses re-educated, prepared for a different way of living and a new economic structure, AND, to unlearn the U.S.A. socialized psychopathic behavior that we’ve been programed to accept and emulate.
However, there is a bit of good news from another outspoken critic of the system!!! Chris Hedges and a few other good humans have stuck their necks out and won a small battle for the human race that resides in these United States! BRAVO. BRAVO.
