Will Department of Justice Probe Into Bondi Firings?

bondi-firingsWow. This certainly is getting curiouser and curiouser.   I frankly don’t think that this should be a political partisan issue, but we are stuck with the system we have.

What is important is that, theoretically at least, someone wants to poke around and inquire.   I’m not holding my breath now, I’ve been hearing about investigations and inquiries and suits by every agency, office and acronym in the alphabet.

For me the most interesting thing is what a bad political mess this is.   Just horribly played by Florida’s AG.   The correct political maneuver   would be to politely, yet firmly stand by the good work done by these two dedicated public servants, promise to continue looking into things, and then just walk away and let it die quietly.   The very public trashing of June Clarkson and Theresa Edwards only serves to fan the flames. (In addition to just not being classy or professional at all to former employees.)

There is a price to be paid for all of this….politically and otherwise.

TALLAHASSEE —

A Democratic state lawmaker wants the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate why Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi forced two foreclosure fraud investigators to resign this spring.

Rep. Darren Soto of Orlando said Friday that he intends to ask the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate Bondi’s ouster of Theresa Edwards and June Clarkson this spring.
