Forget about what you think about foreclosures or people in foreclosure.
The biggest problem with the foreclosure bill is that it strips away the fundamental power our judges and the court system has to correct mistakes a court makes.
Florida’s judges should support our appeal, because this cannot be allowed to stand. And quite frankly, if it were allowed to stand, this unintended consequences should most certainly be that judges would think longer and harder before they signed foreclosure. If I were a judge and I knew that every Final Judgement I signed could be a mistake that would take someone’s home…and I did not have the ability to correct that mistake…I would slow way down.
But I’m confident our courts will stand up and do the right thing when this is brought to their attention.
The attached article continues to make me furious:
Donna DiMaggio Berger, executive director of the Community Advocacy Network, which represents community associations, said the good in the bill, including allowing community associations to push banks to foreclose faster, outweighs the bad.
NO IT DOESN’T DONNA….NO IT DOES NOT
You have been misled, sold a bill of goods and frankly lied to. Before you continue to broadcast and perpetuate this lie to your members, you should actually read the bill.
