The Federal Government Kills Another Peaceful Critic- RIP Aaron Swartz

The messages, received over and over again is very clear…..

DO NOT CHALLENGE THE AUTHORITY OF THE GOVERNMENT REGIMES THAT LORD OVER THIS CORRUPT OLIGARCHY

The prosecutors that were hounding this poor guy killed him just as surely as if they had tied the noose around his neck.   The United States is a cruel, brutal and repressive regime.   it strikes out whenever it is attacked.

How dare we all stand aside and continue to wave the flag and cling to those delusions we cling to.

Open democracy advocate and internet pioneer Aaron Swartz was found dead Friday in an apparent suicide, flooding the digital spectrum with an outpouring of grief. He was 26 years old.

Swartz spent the last two years fighting federal hacking charges. In July 2011, prosecutor Scott Garland working under U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz, a politician with her eye on the governor’s mansion, charged Swartz with four counts of felony misconduct — charges that were deemed outrageous by internet experts who understood the case, and wholly unnecessary by the parties Swartz was accused of wronging. Swartz repeatedly sought to reduce the charges to a level below felony status, but prosecutors pressed on, adding additional charges so that by September 2012 Swartz faced 13 felony counts and up to half a century in prison. It will be interesting (now that Aaron is dead) to see how soon the government pushes through, or enacts by an executive order, the provisions of the Internet censorship bill that Aaron helped de-rail.
