    This is an outrage. Years ago stuff like this was not reported much. But now with the proliferation of video cameras the assault is may be recorded to tell what is going on. Thanks Matt for your courage to report on Occupy Wall Street.

    How can this go on as being acceptable in any city at any time? My guess nothing will happen to this “officer”. This is way beyond acceptable for any reason. Makes me sick.

    Nothing can excuse what the officer did, but there are two points that must be made here. First, it’s possible that the protester did something to provoke a reaction just prior to when the camera picks up the scene. Second, the protester was not a woman as is clearly evidenced by viewing the reverse angle video.

      I posted later the videos that show what happened immediately prior to when he was hit…you’re right it was a man, but even if the guy had hit the cop square in the face before the cop’s attack…what the cop did would not have been acceptable…..what the video shows however is that the guy did nothing at all that would provoke such a response.
