Wow….a whole new wrinkle on the whole “surrogate signing” and “who cares about fraud…your client isn’t paying his mortgage” argument…
The nation’s banks engaged in widespread and systemic fraud.
And they continue to get away with it…..
There will come a day of reckoning for what destruction has been wrought upon our nation’s legal system. The shorthand version is we are all asked (and in some cases demanded) to ignore all the bad and even illegal conduct of the banks. After all (this new legal/political/social/economic perspective asserts) the homeowner did not pay their mortgage. And so, because of this sin mortal sin, all transgressions committed by the party in superior bargaining power must not just be forgiven, forgotten, overlooked…they will rather be rewarded. Richly rewarded.
That is the new ethic in this nation.
What could possibly go wrong?
